We are a co-op preschool focused on early learning. |
Ancaster Small Fry Co-operative Preschool was established in 1967 by a local group of parents seeking alternative educational care for their young children.
Children ages from 18 months to 3 years are eligible for enrolment. Although toilet-training is encouraged, it is not a pre-requisite for enrolment. We are proud to have one of the few programs for toddlers in the village of Ancaster. The preschool operates regularly from September through June, on Monday to Friday (excluding holidays).

We're dedicate and passionate about our school. |
Our wonderful and dedicated teachers are Registered Early Childhood Educators with many years of experience with toddler and preschool aged children. They are members of the College of ECE, maintaining ethical and professional standards according to Ontario regulations. They are members of ASCY, a professional association that provides our teachers with access to a resource library and regular study sessions and workshops to continue their professional learning. Special Needs Resourcing run by Community Living Hamilton provides support to special needs children in co-op preschools within the Hamilton area, allowing our school to offer an inclusive environment for children and families with a variety of individual needs. Ancaster Small Fry Preschool has been an active member of the Raising the Bar initiative in Hamilton since 2005. This initiative provides a framework of best practices to guide early learning and child care operators in delivering high quality services for children and families. |
